Local Bands Make Good Headliners

She Said Sunday will make its show Jan. 11 a sort of "adult prom," with people dressing up as if they're going to a prom and renting limousines, vocalist and keyboard player Christine Bainbridge says.

"Maybe we'll have corsages," Bainbridge says. "We'll play popular songs, different stuff from what we normally play. We want people to think of it as a fun night out. It's exciting for us. We're hoping to make it a great show and play there again."

Summer Entertainment is Warming Up

Summer entertainment, much like its heat, is in full force. Within this week's lineup are two cover bands that pride themselves on professionalism, and a solo artist with a summertime feel.

She Said Sunday

Pennsylvania-based She Said Sunday heads back to the Jersey Shore Friday night to perform at Buckalew's Tavern in Beach Haven starting at 10 p.m.

Together about five years, the six-member group has won many Lehigh Valley Music Awards, in categories like Best Entertaining Band, Best Cover Band and Best Live Rock Performance. Its sound expanded to Long Beach Island about a year ago when they first played Buckalew's, and they have returned several times since.

In part, the group attributes its success to their professional nature, paired with the fact that they have, and provide, a lot of fun.

The band is comprised of lifelong musicians, including Chris Yando on vocals and guitars; Christine Bainbridge on vocals, keyboards and percussion; Mike Kahn on guitars and vocals; newest member Ricky Bell on guitars and vocals; Don Stone on bass and vocals; and Greg Kowal on drums.

They perform popular songs from the '80s and '90s, as well as current hits, that most everyone will recognize. Being very audience oriented, songs are carefully chosen to ensure all will enjoy.
